And, just like that, The Kitchen House Salad has become the Pictona Salad, fulfilling the vision of a farm to table experience here at Pictona. Led by Master Gardener, Russ Royce, Pictona Garden Club Hydroponic Committee Co-Chairs Corrie Wise and Trish Kabus, and The Kitchen Manager, Josh Ricasolo, Pictona's hydroponic initiative is now under way!

Set in the midst of the Humana Community Gardens at Pictona, the hydroponic garden is a source of fresh vegetables and herbs that are grown by members of the Pictona Garden Club for use in Pictona's own restaurant, The Kitchen. The Pictona Salad features fresh greens from our towers, along with other scintillating ingredients. These delicious greens are harvested multiple times each week, prepared by Kitchen staff and served fresh on your plate for lunch and dinner.

Stop by the towers in the Humana Community Gardens at Pictona anytime Pictona is open to check on the progress of our Buttercrunch Lettuce, Cilantro, Parsley, Romaine Lettuce, Microgreens and more, and come visit The Kitchen for the freshest salad around!

You are likely aware that USA Pickleball has made some rule changes which went into effect January 25. Dereck Prince, a certified referee conducted two well attended Rule Schools on Sunday, January 24. You may pick up a copy of the major rule changes prepared by Dereck at the Welcome Desk. Dereck has offered to return for another Rule School should we have sufficient interest. So please let the Welcome Desk staff know if you are interested and your preferred time during a weekend.

Dear Valued Members and Friends of Pictona,

Pictona is proud to be the host to the Humana-Island Doctors Bainbridge Cup  from  April 7 -11. This is your invitation to share in the excitement of the Bainbridge Cup by volunteering your time, energy and passion for pickleball and Pictona.

There are many volunteering opportunities available, beginning on Tuesday, April 6th, including player registration and check-in, court monitoring, anthem singers, venue access, ambassadors and a host of other options.  This could be your opportunity to have fun, meet new people and enjoy the full experience of the Bainbridge Cup from the inside.

We are using a great new volunteer registration tool, Sign-Up Genius, to help facilitate the volunteering process. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the following site: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0844A4A92AA1FF2-bainbridge.

Once on the registration page, we recommend that you first view all the options, days and times available and then register  for all the positions that you are willing and able to fill. At the end you will be asked to complete your personal information. (This is important in case we need to reach you with any changes and/or adjustments to the schedule.) We also suggest that you select the “save to calendar” button that allows these positions with the dates and times to go directly to your calendar. You will receive an email confirming your selections. In addition, you will receive reminders of your volunteer commitments as we get closer to the start of the tournament.

Thank you in advance for volunteering for the Bainbridge Cup. Please feel free to share this information and link with your family and friends in case they might also like the opportunity to volunteer.  The success of  the Bainbridge Cup will depend largely on the hard work and dedication of the volunteers. Let's work together to make the Bainbridge Cup a great success and a wonderful experience for all the players, visitors and our members.

If you  have any questions, you may reach out to Cris Higgins at crish@pictona.org or via cell 678.938.5364.

Thank you,
Mimi Cook & Cris Higgins
