On Thursday, November 19th, the Pictona Garden Club collected and donated a variety of food items for the Volusia Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, a "fun family event where volunteers come together in the spirit of contribution" and "create and deliver Thanksgiving boxes to families in need in our community." Amy Labosco Hall represented the organization, accepted our food donation, and spoke to our Club about the impact this event has on Volusia families. She told us that, each year, the Brigade collects and distributes over 3000 boxes of food in our community to help local residents have a wonderful Thanksgiving feast!
The Pictona Garden Club is proud to have been a small part of this event, and we look forward to participating again next year. Many thanks to Club member Shirley Rose for introducing us to the Brigade, and to Club member Ricki Stofsky for organizing our collection efforts.
We hope the entire Pictona family had a terrific Thanksgiving!
