Rainer’s Update
Fall Vintage Tournament. Let’s pat ourselves on the back for a tournament well done! A huge thank you to all of you who volunteered to help run the tournament. I wish I could thank each of you personally by shaking your hand and giving you a hug (oops, that’s out). Please know that we appreciate your help immensely. We could not run a tournament with 630 players without the one hundred volunteers that helped. And that help netted us $32,000 which helps pay Pictona’s bills and keeps our membership fee low.
Tournament Results. Congratulations to the many Pictona winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Our club was very well represented on the Celebration Plaza Award stand. We will be posting photos of those winners soon.
The Kitchen. We closed the Kitchen because our kitchen manager walked out and the two cooks he hired followed him. We had no option but to close the restaurant. We are actively searching for a new kitchen manager. If you know a person who has cooking skills AND kitchen management experience who may be interested, please contact Judy Ginn. We also are looking for cooks and servers and appreciate leads for these positions too. During the time we are closed we are planning changes to the Kitchen based on the feedback you gave us to the survey sent out a few weeks ago and input from our members who have restaurant experience. We will open again just as soon as we can staff the Kitchen. In the mean time you may bring in your own food and beverages. We asked that you keep food off the areas painted green and blue.
Holiday Schedule. We are open 365 days a year to serve you. On Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day we will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m.
Ladder Play. We will offer 9 different ladders for doubles play based on gender and skill as well as 2 ladders for singles beginning November 16. You’ll receive a separate announcement about ladder play in the next couple of days.
Court Utilization. Also, within the next few days we will release a new court schedule that identifies certain courts for open play, reservations, and by skill level.
