USA Pickleball is excited to announce the inaugural Diamond Amateur Championship to be held December 1-7, 2022. The 12 Regional Championships will culminate in the new Diamond Amateur Championship taking place at Pictona in Holly Hills, FL. Gold Medalists from the Diamond Amateur Championship will earn pre-registration (Golden Tickets) to the following year’s National Championships in Indian Wells as another pathway for players to the Nationals in addition to the National Championship Series.
“We are excited to establish the Diamond Amateur Championship to provide players additional opportunities for high-level tournament play and an important avenue for earning golden tickets to the Nationals,” said Stu Upson, CEO USA Pickleball. “Pictona is a world-class facility capability of hosting significant events like the Diamond Amateur Championship.“
“Pictona at Holly Hill is delighted to be the host for the first ever USA Pickleball Diamond Championship. The tournament will be the grand opening of the second phase of Pictona. Players will be greeted with a total of 49 courts, each separately fenced, and 13 courts under cover, which includes the championship court that seats up to 1200. Diamond Amateur Championship Format:
Round Robin pools leading to a double elimination championship for each bracket will be used. This format should guarantee more play for all players.
