About the Tournament
The Rookie Rally takes place at Pictona at Holly Hill in January, as the ultimate tournament experience for new and developing pickleball players. Created specifically for participants at the 2.5 and 3.0 skill levels, this event provides a competitive yet welcoming environment tailored to those beginning their journey into tournament play.
The Rookie Rally features a round-robin format that guarantees multiple games with minimal downtime, allowing players to enjoy consistent action and steady competition. Events include men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, all organized by both age and skill level to ensure fair and balanced matchups.
The Rookie Rally usually sees more than 300 "rookies", our term of pride for novice players, compete in the tournament, helping to establish the Rookie Rally as one of the most well-attended beginner events in the region. Following its success and strong player feedback, Pictona is excited to bring this signature event back for a new year.
Players are encouraged to self-rate as accurately as possible to preserve the competitive integrity of the event and ensure a rewarding experience for all. The best matches happen when skill levels are evenly matched, and the Rookie Rally is designed to make that possible.
