Server Help
As you may have heard it is very difficult to find help in the hospitality industry these days. We urgently need part-time help as servers in the Kitchen, especially during the Bainbridge Cup tournament from April 6 through the 11th. Servers are paid $10 per hour plus tips.
The work is not difficult: you take orders inputting the information into our Point of Service software, process payments, serve food and drinks, and keep the Kitchen clean and tidy. You get to interact with fellow Pictona members and help them enjoy our food and drink.
If you have some time during the Bainbridge Cup, we could sure use your help. We’ll teach you what you need to know, and maybe if you like the work, you may wish to stay on beyond the Tournament. If interested, let the Welcome Desk know or speak to Judy Ginn, Julie Martens, or Rainer Martens.

It was a celebration of women at Pictona on Thursday morning. A recreational round robin was held for the first twenty-eight women that signed up. The sun was shining, and the wind was the fifth player on the courts! There were laughs sprinkled with a pinch of competitive spirit, and a great time was had by all.
Josh, our Kitchen manager, mixed up a refreshing berry smoothie for each player, and daisies were given out at the end with a special note. Many thanks to the one-and-only Bandanna Barb for organizing this event in honor of International Women's Day.
We love our ladies at Pictona!
Earlier, Pickleball News posted an article on drilling (https://pictona.org/news-information/2020-09-25/drill-baby-drill/). This article discussed the importance of drilling. As an update, I want to share a few specific drills from some of the Pictona pros. Read More
For the next two weeks (March 16 - 30), the Pictona Garden Club, on behalf of Pictona, will sponsor a Spring Food Drive to assist local families in need. Pictona members and visitors are invited to donate dry and canned foods (basically, any food that is "shelf-stable" or nonperishable; also, please check expiration dates). Items like peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned fish, canned stew, canned beans, pasta, rice, etc. will be much appreciated and most helpful in combatting food insecurity in our area.
We are partnering with two local organizations: the Jerry Doliner Food Bank and Community United Methodist Church. These two organizations are committed to fighting hunger in Volusia County, and we are excited to aid in their efforts. Please help us by placing food donations in the boxes at the Welcome Desk entrance. We will deliver our donations after the Spring Food Drive ends on March 30.
The generous donations of Pictona members and visitors alike will truly help our friends and neighbors navigate through these challenging economic and social times. Thank you for your consideration and generosity, Pictona!
