Pictona would like to recognize Leesa Keefe, Tim Frame and Debbie Shulak who each went above and beyond the call of duty during The Pictona Open by Emerge Insurance as the Volunteers of the Month for September, October and November.
The Pictona Open was our biggest tournament of the year with 878 players. By all accounts, it was a very successful tournament thanks to our hard-working, dedicated and dependable volunteers. We had 121 volunteers who performed 901 hours of service. That’s an average of nearly 7 ½ hours per volunteer. There were several volunteers, however, who stepped up in a big way to ensure that the tournament ran smoothly.
Leesa Keefe has been a Pictona volunteer for several years and always provides a positive spirit to all volunteer tournaments. Leesa races around the Pictona campus as a Scoresheet collector, gathering scoresheets at maximum velocity. In addition, Leesa assisted the maintenance staff emptying garbage cans and wiping down bleachers and tables beginning at 6:00 am.
Tim Frame came forward to volunteer due to an unfortunate incident. Tim was scheduled to participate in the tournament but injured himself during a pole vault competition. He immediately offered his services during the tournament as a Pod Manager. But that wasn’t all. On a moment's notice, Tim obliged when asked to take on additional shifts beyond the several shifts he signed up for.
Debbie Shulak has always been one of Pictona’s stellar Pod Managers. It is because of Debbie and our other dedicated Pod Managers that make Pictona events universally respected as one of the best run tournaments in the country.
Congratulations to all three of these wonderful volunteers as we honor them as Pictona’s Volunteers of the Month. They each will share the Volunteer of the Month parking spot for the remainder of 2024.
