PB 202 Pickleball Second Step - Adults

This course is part of a series that consists of 4 courses, each course having 2 two-hour long sessions. The series is ideal for the beginning player who has been introduced to pickleball by friends or by attending Pictona’s Pickleball 101 class. Players who complete the series will be playing successful pickleball and most importantly, having fun doing so!

The second course in the Pictona  Pickleball Series will introduce the player to the skill shots which will elevate the beginner players' games to higher levels.  Participants will participate in drills, modified games, instructor scenarios and guided games during this course.

Course Topics:

Session 1

  • Dinking form and how to dink “with purpose”
  • Learning and performing different types of dinks (cross court, middle, push dinks)
  • Drop Shot (third shot drop) technique, form and purpose
  • Drives and lobs
  • Tethering and Positioning

Session 2

  • Blocking at the Non-Volley Zone
  • Different types of blocks (drop block, punch volley, resets)
  • Drills and modified games to practice blocking, dinking and drops
  • Instructor critiqued games

Players will be shown drills that they can do on their own to improve these skills. This fast-paced class will take your game to the next level and build confidence.

Course Duration: 2 Sessions, 2 Hours Per Session

Course Prerequisites: Adult First Step

Course Recommended for: Beginner, 2.5-3.3

Minimum = 4 students, Maximum = 8 students
