The Stroke of the Month Specialty class is a 1 ½ hour session and is taught by Pictona’s IPTPA certified instructor, Sylvia Whitehouse and is limited to 8 participants.
Is this class appropriate for you? Participants should be 3.2 + Player Levels and have the ability to execute successful forehand and backhand strokes with a 50%+ accuracy as well as being able to maintain a 8+ shot or more rally.
In this month’s class, “Using one Stroke to either Drop Drive or Lob will be the goal. The instructor, will teach the importance of striking the ball while the paddle is in a horizontal position while follow through level to the ground to ensure ball stays waist high or below as to not give opponents an attackable shot. Alternatively, the instructor will demonstrate when to open the paddle face to create loft to either lob or chip the ball over opponents shoulder or head.
Players will participate in several drills of “game situation scenarios” to practice concepts and the last part of the lesson, participants will play out points.
*Routinely drilling, practicing and or having instruction will help achieve consistency and lower unforced errors also helping to build muscle memory player confidence and improve game mental toughness.
